Walking The Three Peaks for Dumfries Critical Care Unit

Hi my name is Chloe, as many of you know I was in a very serious car accident on October 1st 2023 where I almost lost my life. I was taken to Dumfries Critical Care Unit, where I found out I had broken 3 bones in my neck and crushed one other. Due the nature of the fractures I had to be transported to Edinburgh where I had surgery to stabilise the bones. This was only the start to a long road of recovery ahead of me. Due to nerve damage I have loss of sensation in part of my right arm/hand and have also suffered with retrograde amnesia due to a head injury. Throughout the recovery process I tried to remain positive even though I won’t lie it was really tough. I struggled with everyday activities and I wouldn’t of been able to cope
Without the help of family and friends which I am eternally grateful for.

This summer I plan to do something similar to the Three Peaks challenge except instead of it being over 24 hours it will be over three weeks. This will be to raise money for The Critical Care Unit in Dumfries.

The three peaks are the tallest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales. I plan to start with Snowdon the week commencing the 19th of May 2025. Then the week after will be Scafell Pike in the Lake District and lastly will be Ben Nevis.

I would like to dedicate this fundraiser to Dumfries’s Critical Care Unit and staff. I want to thank the staff and the ward for their professionalism and actions in supporting me in the initial instance and being so patient and helpful during such difficult time.
