Walking the Sligo Camino in Memory of Pat Bradley

Donation protected
On Saturday, 5th July 2025, a group of family and friends of the late Pat Bradley, Coolaney, will walk the Sligo Camino in Pat’s memory to raise much-needed funds for two very worthy causes: The North West Hospice, Sligo, and The Irish Cancer Society’s Night Nursing Service.

Together, the North West Hospice Palliative Care Team and the Irish Cancer Society’s Night Nursing Service provided Pat and the Bradley family with the invaluable support they needed during Pat’s final days. These essential services rely heavily on public funding in order to continue offering the compassionate care so vital to our community.

We are seeking your support to raise funds for these two very worthy services in memory of Pat. By contributing, you help ensure that any family facing the same journey receives the same compassionate and dignified care that Pat did.

All proceeds raised will be divided evenly between The North West Hospice, Sligo, and The Irish Cancer Society’s Night Nursing Service. Please note that proceeds raised are subject to a standard fee set by GoFundMe.

North West Hospice
The North West Hospice offers compassionate support to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses. Their palliative care services go beyond medical treatment, providing comfort, dignity, and comprehensive support throughout the journey.

The Irish Cancer Society’s Night Nursing Service
Established in 1986, the Night Nursing Service has become a cornerstone of the Irish Cancer Society’s support offerings, ensuring that no family faces the end-of-life journey alone. The service provides specialist end-of-life care to cancer patients in their own homes, enabling them to spend their final days surrounded by loved ones in comfort and dignity. Night Nurses offer expert support and a compassionate presence during overnight hours, easing the burden on families at a profoundly difficult time. The service is primarily funded through public donations, with only 5% of its funding coming from the government.

The Sligo Camino
The Sligo Camino is a spectacular one-day hiking event that takes place annually in the beautiful northwest of Ireland. This year marks its 10th anniversary. The 34.5-kilometre trek begins in the village of Dromahair and winds its way through the stunning Sligo Way, finishing in the village of Coolaney, County Sligo. The event is renowned for its friendly atmosphere, superb organisation, and the camaraderie among walkers.
