My name is Lucia and I’m a PhD student at the Zoological Society of London and University of Reading researching sturgeon decline and memory of sturgeon in the River Severn to inform a potential future reintroduction.

I will be walking all 215 miles of the River Severn from Source to Sea this September and interviewing fishers along the way. Hannah is joining me in this journey (we met in Gloucester Archives as I was looking at old sturgeon records!) and I’ll let her introduce herself here: 

I’m Hannie, experienced long distance pilgrim passionate about merging the sacred and the practical. How can we honour the river and then turn that act of devotion into radical care. Walking the river alongside Lucia helping as many people to connect with her, take action and be a part of her healing.
