My name is Christopher, and for the past six years, I’ve been living with Schizophrenia and about ten other diagnoses. After being denied disability and using up all my savings, I found myself searching for hope and a way forward. One thing that has always helped me is walking—on days I walk eight or more miles, I feel better than I have in years. That’s why I’ve set a big goal: to walk the entire Appalachian Trail, starting in the spring of 2026.
This journey isn’t just for me. I want to encourage others who are struggling with mental health to get outside, connect with nature, and keep moving forward. I’ll be documenting my experience on social media, sharing the ups and downs, and showing that even when therapy and medication don’t work, there’s still hope. I hope my story inspires others to find their own path to healing.
The funds I’m raising will help cover food, occasional hostel stays so I can recharge my batteries and keep sharing my journey, and any emergency gear replacements along the way. I’ve already spent my last savings on a backpack, tent, and gear, so your support is what will make this possible. If you can, please consider donating to help me walk 2,000 miles for mental health awareness. Every bit helps me take another step and share this journey with the world. Thank you for believing in me.
