Walking South America

Hi everyone

Firstly, thank you so much for reading this. Means a lot to me, and it will mean a lot to people in South America as well.

Who am I?
My name is Fredrik, im a 32 year old man from Norway, and im a professional safari guide and auxilary nurse.


I have lived about 9 years in different countries in Africa, working with wildlife and local people for the protection of our precious wildlife as well as in the tourism industry

In my time working in Africa I have seen how Malaria can have a devastating impact on local communities and people, and I have decided that I want to try to make a difference to other people as well.

What is my mission?
I have been planning a trip to South America for a long time, and a good friend of mine from Brazil told me that they have similar problems with Malaria were they live, and thats how I got this idea.

My plan is to walk-use a bicycle-use a boat from Colombia through the amazon and the pantanal and all the way down to Chile, and in doing so I will be visiting many local villages and settlements that have been heavily affected by Malaria. This is a trip for myself, but seeing how Malaria can impact certain areas I have decided that I want to help at the same time as I have my adventure.


Using my contacts in Tanzania in Africa, I have managed to get a great deal with a company that produces mosquito nets in South America, and my goal is to bring with me and distribute free mosquito nets to locals in need of them.  
I will also give educational talks about Malaria and ways to fight Malaria.

How will YOUR donation help?
The money donated by you will go towards buying the mosquito nets, but also towards enabling me to reach the most remote villages and families out there, as they are for sure the ones that need them the most.

This will not only enable children all over South America to live longer and healthier, but it will hopefully also work as an educational tool that they can share with their future generations

When is the trip starting?
The trip will hopefully start around July 2017, and my plan is to spend at least 6 months, if not more, traveling South America
