I'm walking 50km between the 13th and 20th of July 2026 to raise money in memory of Chester Bennington, who would have been 50 years old this year.

Linkin Park, who he was the co-lead singer in, was a massive part of my life since I was 14 and Chester himself had a large influence on me as a person.

I was lucky enough to be able to meet the band as part of their One More Light of the 3rd of July. I got a handshake from Mike & Joe and I made Rob smile. The other highlight for me was Chester hugging me after telling him he helped me through a dark year, I even got a high five, fist bump and handshake from him.

When he passed in 2017 I, along with thousands of other fans, were devastated at the news. But since then, his wife Talinda and his bandmate Mike, have repeatedly told us to 'Make Chester Proud' and I want to honour his legacy of always helping others, by raising money to support thsoe who are struggling with their inner demons.

Pieta is an Irish charity that prevents suicide and self-harm. That means being there if you are self-harming, struggling with suicidal thoughts, or have lost someone to suicide. Every year nearly 500 people in Ireland take their own lives, that’s one life lost every week. It doesn’t have to be this way. Pieta exists to change this by offering life-saving services, provoking national conversation, and bringing people together through Darkness Into Light.
