My Father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease ten years ago, and to mark this and help raise awareness, I am planning a sponsored 10 mile walk on Saturday 4 April 2026.

I will be walking from my home to the rugby club that my family and I have attended every Saturday for 20 years. I have chosen to do this on a match day to help maximise awareness, as there are usually over 2,500 people in attendance. Bedford last April had a Parkinson's awareness match which involved them warming up in Parkinson's UK t-shirts. I have already been in contact with Bedford Blues to explore whether they may be able to support the walk and help spread the word about the fundraising effort.

April is Parkinson's awareness month so this is the perfect time to do the walk and hopefully raise some funds to continue the amazing work that Parkinsons UK already do, which I have seen first hand.
