Walking for Children in Poverty - Compassion UK

In receiving a letter from one of the children we sponsor, it struck me how just a small amount of support can make such an impact. We have been amazed over the past 5 years of the basic and essential needs that are met through a small amount of support, such as food for the family, ensuring the children receive nutritional support, regular check ups and the support of their local church family as well as the educational support they need to enhance their future. Just this month one of the children shared through a letter how they got 5kg of rice for their family, new t-shirts for school, plastic cups to play with and sweets. What I find so challenging, is the thankfulness and gratitude these small levels of support are met with.

I will be walking 124.2KM in 30 days as I hope to raise £1242 which will sponsor another child for the next three years as well as giving them a birthday and Christmas gift each year.

I also pray and hope some of you may consider sponsoring a child through Compassion UK and be a part of the beautiful work they are doing around the world.

Compassion UK are dedicated to releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name, working in 29 countries partnering with 8,500 local churches within communities experiencing poverty. Compassion give children and young people the opportunity to thrive and reach their potential both now and into the future.
