Walking Flossie’s Final Journey

Donation protected
Team Flossie have come up with a new challenge for this year…

For Flossie’s 2nd birthday in July, we will be walking from Ormskirk Hospital to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital — 13.2 miles.

We are raising money for 2 amazing causes firstly to donate a privacy pram in Flossie’s name.

This is such a special pram designed to protect the privacy and dignity of babies and children who have sadly died. The pram has an extended hood which allows babies to be transported around the hospital in a gentle and dignified way, whether that’s between wards, to the mortuary, or simply allowing families to take their baby outside for some fresh air and precious time together.

It might sound like such a small thing, but when you are living through the worst moment of your life, those moments mean absolutely everything.

I know how important it was for me to get fresh air when we were in hospital with Flossie. Leaving your baby behind, even just for a minute, feels impossible. To be able to take your baby for a walk, sit outside together, make memories and just breathe for a moment… that is something so special.

The pram costs around £500, and we would love to be able to donate one in Flossie’s memory to help other families.
hopefully more to other hospitals if we get enough money.

But we can’t stop there.

On the night Flossie became poorly, we were transferred from Ormskirk Hospital to Alder Hey by NWTS — the North West and North Wales Paediatric Transport Service.

NWTS are a specialist transport team for critically ill babies and children. They provide mobile intensive care and transport children from local hospitals to specialist centres such as Alder Hey and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

The team who cared for Flossie were incredible. They were the ones who found the bleed on Flossie’s brain, and we will never forget the care, compassion and dignity they showed our family during the darkest moments imaginable.

The last journey Flossie made alive was from Ormskirk to Alder Hey.

So Team Flossie will be digging deep and walking that same journey for two incredible causes that help families during the worst times of their lives.

Please donate anything you can and help us continue Flossie’s legacy by supporting other families who sadly find themselves walking this path too.

We will continue to raise money every year and try to make other families experience that tiny bit easier.

Thank you so much for all your support always.
