Hey there,
My name is Kyle, I'm 27 years old from Ireland and I'm currently walking 900km over 36 days from St. Jean Piet-de-Port in France, to Fisterra on the coast of Spain.
At the time of writing I'm currently on day 4 of walking with a planned arrival date of June 24th in Fisterra.
I admittedly did not start this adventure with the idea of it being a fundraiser in any way. I just wanted to have some new experiences and explore some parts of the world I'd never seen before, while also challenging myself. However, though I am having an incredible journey so far, my mind keeps turning to the horrible events unfolding in Gaza and the suffering of the Palestinian people.
I've decided that if my journey can help do something, in some small way, then it should.
Already this journey has been one of the most physically challenging things I have undertaken in my life. On day 1 I crossed the Spanish-French border through the Pyrenees in a thunderstorm, gaining over a kilometre in elevation. Yesterday I completed 34km from Biskaretta to Pamplona.
I am choosing Medicines sans Frontieres / Doctors Without Borders, as it is a charity I have a bit of a nostalgic connection to from some fundraising years ago in Vancouver. They are doing their best to undertake important humanitarian work in Gaza right now.
It's my understanding that through GoFundMe any donation on this page goes straight to MSF Ireland - it does not pass through me and I don't need to do anything (besides walking 800km). My trip is entirely self funded.
I would greatly appreciate any donation, no matter how large or small.
Thanks for reading / donating!
