41 Miles on Foot to Stand Beside Baby Clarena
Dani and I are organizing this fundraiser for baby Clarena and her parents, Raquel and Clarena's father. Clarena is my wife Dani’s sister’s niece, and right now this sweet little girl is in the ICU at Children's Hospital fighting Neuroblastoma and undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatments.
As her mom Raquel shared, this isn't something genetics or a weak immune system caused—it is an unimaginable battle that can happen to any child, at any time. Clarena is proving every day that she is a fighter, but her family faces a tremendous emotional and financial mountain as they spend weeks by her hospital bedside away from home.
To show our love and rally our community around them, Dani and I are taking on the biggest physical challenge of our lives: walking roughly 41 miles on foot over two days, from our front door on Green Bay’s east side all the way to downtown Sturgeon Bay. We refuse to let this family walk this road alone. We want every mile of pavement beneath our feet to serve as a reminder to Clarena that Northeast Wisconsin is fighting right alongside her.
The Walk Route & Schedule
Day 1 (Monday, Nov 2): Stepping off from our home on Green Bay's east side, walking up through Champion and stopping for the night at a hotel in Dyckesville (~17 miles).
Day 2 (Tuesday, Nov 3): Departing Dyckesville early morning, pushing through Brussels and Southern Door, and finishing at a hotel in downtown Sturgeon Bay (~25 miles). Wednesday, Nov 4: Recovery and coordinating transportation back home to Green Bay.
Join Us on the Road This is a community walk. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome to walk a 2-mile stretch, complete an entire leg, or meet us at our evening checkpoints in Dyckesville or Sturgeon Bay.
If you see us walking along Highway 57, honk, wave, and keep our spirits high! Where Your Donation Goes 100% of the funds raised through this campaign will be delivered directly to Clarena’s family to help cover: Out-of-pocket medical bills and specialized chemotherapy care. Travel, lodging, and gas expenses back and forth to Children’s Hospital. Everyday living expenses so her parents can remain by Clarena's bedside in the ICU without the immediate terror of lost income.
