Hello everyone,

This is Shaun from Spanish Property Choice & The Garner's of Sun, Sea & Selling Houses and this September 2026, my best friend Emily and I will be taking on one of our biggest challenges yet, walking over 100 kilometres along the Camino de Santiago, from Ferrol to Santiago in northern Spain.

Unlike many pilgrims, we aren't completing the Camino for religious reasons. Our first Camino in 2024 came at a time when we were both facing some of the toughest moments of our lives. It became much more than just a walk. It gave us time to reflect, heal, challenge ourselves and discover that sometimes the biggest journeys are the ones that happen within.

Now, two years later, life has changed for the better. We're stronger, happier and incredibly grateful for where we are today.

That's why we wanted this second Camino to be about giving something back.

Why PAWS Patas Animal Shelter?

We have chosen to raise money for PAWS Patas Animal Shelter, a charity based here in Almería, Spain, that works tirelessly to rescue, care for and rehome abandoned and neglected animals.

This cause is especially close to my heart because my own cat, Lucky, was adopted from PAWS Patas. Without organisations like them, Lucky's story could have been very different, and I honestly cannot imagine life without him.

Every day they provide food, veterinary care, shelter and, most importantly, hope to animals who have nowhere else to turn.

On my social media (Instagram & Facebook) we'll be sharing our preparations, training, behind the scenes moments and daily video updates during the walk, so everyone who supports us can experience the adventure alongside us.

There will no doubt be sore feet, aching legs and plenty of challenges along the way, but knowing we're walking for such an incredible cause will keep us moving forward.
