Walker’s Warriors

Walker Chance was born with many birth anomalies. First thought as neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer. But being born at 29 weeks, it was discovered that Walker had 2 intestinal atresias, that has since been  corrected with a series of surgeries. he also had 2 deformed feet that are in the process of being corrected, hydrocephalus, a stage 3 brain bleed, and as if the odds weren’t against him enough, this sweet baby was born blind. Many genetic tests have been taken over the last 8 months and we still have no answers as to what happened to this sweet little baby during conception or development. After being told that he wouldn’t make it to 22 weeks gestation, he has beat the odds many times and has proved his willingness to fight, fight, fight!! What remains is one last genetic test where they will look at every surface area of each and every one of his 20,000 genes; hydrocephalus, and of the upmost importance, his beautiful little eyes. Walker will require a corneal transplant for the best chance possible to develop his vision. We have prayed about this above all of his anomalies and we have full faith that God will provide Walker with sight. But his insurance is not covering the costs because it is an elective surgery. No child deserves to learn how to walk without seeing his surroundings. No child deserves to not know what his loved ones look like. Every child deserves the gift of sight. I pray that this community comes together one last time to give Walker the best shot at a normal life! Please help him get his corneal transplant!
