Friends, by now, so many of you have heard of Walker’s new diagnosis. You’ve probably also learned that he’ll need ongoing, complex medical care for the foreseeable future—with the ultimate goal being that he’ll be able to receive a kidney transplant and return to life as a normal 10 year old boy. His family is working to keep their heads above water, as they swim through the endless new details and overwhelming emotions that can never be separated from this kind of trauma. We know that Walker’s young life has been altered in ways we all pray to never endure, but I’ve seen this community lift his family up before, and I know we’ll rally around him now—to show him he is loved, and to make the road ahead a little easier to travel.
