Walker & Haleigh Smith Support
Donation protected
The past few weeks have been a complete roller coaster for our family. We spent Christmas together and the next week Walker was in the ICU fighting for his life.
As a young, healthy 29-year-old Walker and his wife, Haleigh, did not have savings set aside for any astronomical medical expenses such as this. With Walker being out of work, already using all of his paid time off from holidays and being at home sick, everyday living expenses (rent, utilities, childcare, etc) still needing to be paid and with Haleigh having the only income at this point, they could use some help.
Luckily, Walker does have insurance but we all know that doesn’t cover everything. ICU stays are not cheap. A medical flight will be very costly. And more than likely he will need therapy and rehab, which we haven’t even began to look at cost wise. When we can visit Walker, there are travel expenses such gas, food, hotel, etc. that will have to be covered along with regular living expenses. Going from a two-income family to a one income family is very difficult, especially in today's economic hardships.
Haleigh as a young wife with a four-year-old at home and another on the way has a lot to handle right now. If we can ease one burden for her so she can focus her attention on Walker and his care, we want to be able to do that. All money donated will be used to pay necessary bills while they are short on income, and pay any medical bills that come from Walker’s extensive hospital stays.
If you can’t give, please continue to lift Walker, Haleigh, and the rest of the family in your prayers! If you want to stay up to date on Walker’s progress we have set up a Facebook page called “Walker Smith Updates”.
