Walker was born July 27th with Craniosynostosis. This is where his skull prematurely fused together before birth. Walker craniosynostosis is of the sagittal suture. It has completely closed and fused together. The fusing of this suture isn't suppose to happen until your 20s. This suture being closed does not allow for his skull or brain to grow properly. This is causing his skull and brain to prude forward in his forehead area and bulge out in the back of his head. It is urgent to treat this before any damage happens to his brain and have lasting effect. For Walkers case he needs to see two specialist a neurosurgeon and cranial plastic surgeon. Because this is not something that is available to us in this area we are having to make many trips to and from Cincinnati Children's hospital. Walker will need a surgery now to remove the suture, and because the severity of his case and his age he will likely need another one a little later on as well. After surgery Walker will need cranial shifting therapy and a molding helmet. He will have many many appointments and CTs for the next year. As long as everything progresses appropriately, and no more surgeries or procedures are needed he will only need to be seen once a year til hes an adult.

With this, we are running into unexpected traveling expenses, with gas and possible hotel stays. And unsure what insurance is willing to cover or not cover for his appointments, surgeries, therapy, helmet, and CTs as they are currently fighting us on covering new CT images.
