Hello Friends! My name is Manu Toigo. In 2017 I officially started a small business that runs camps for Children. It became something that I was passionate about and I had finally found my purpose in life. That purpose was to introduce and educate our children to the Wilderness and the beauty of Nature. Hands on, Get Dirty, Survive and Learn. What they learn is invaluable life skills that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. I also hope that I can instigate the budding of future ambassadors to protect our Mother Earth and all her living creatures, including us. As a Survivalists, I educate and teach Wilderness Survival, Environmental & Wildlife Conservation and Protection. We sure do have fun and more importantly, the children go home with a life time memory of what they experienced and learned and then pass on to their parents and other friends.
We all know there are many small business' closed as a result of COVID-19 and now my much beloved business is in serious trouble of the same fate.
2020 was supposed to be my launch into the next step of expansion to create and build a Wilderness & Survival Learning School. The dream was to purchase approx. 40 acres to extend my teachings all year round, not only for the kids, but adults as well. Unfortunately, I lost over 90% of my entire revenue for 2020 and now that 2021 is here, we are still not over the pandemic. I hold on hope that I will be able to provide a Summer Camp and continue to change our children's lives and be able to offer scholarships for families that can't afford to have their children on camp.
I have applied for numerous small business emergency relief Covid loans & grants and I have not been approved for any for one reason or another or multiple. So, sadly, I am still upside down in financial stability to sustain the business because of the overwhelming cancellations I am now not in a position to continue to offer refunds. I owe it to them and I understand their decisions to keep their children safe from COVID.
Another factor on top of this, I can no longer use my current mini-van as the second vehicle because of concerns with safety driving with children. I was going to be purchasing a 2nd hand 4x4 Crew Cab Truck to take the load of camp and survival equipment and a truck to be used on my intended Outdoor learning school property.
Your support and generosity will be forever grateful. The need for children to be reconnected to nature is imperative to their understanding of how we can all work together to make a difference. I can not give up on these kids.
