Hello and welcome to the GoFundMe page for the 2026 Walk4Guy!

We are celebrating our 10th Walk4Guy which is amazing and all thanks to YOU – once again the walk is taking place on the 1st January 2026 and Guy can’t wait!

Back in January 2025, everyone who supported the walk helped raise somewhere between £1500 and £2000, and it has made such a difference! This year we want to go even better, and raise £2026 in the year 2026.

Please read this update which explains how these funds were used and how funds raised in the 10th Walk4Guy will help Guy in the year ahead.

AN UPDATE ON GUY - FROM DENISE & SCOTT

Guy Pentland 2025:

Firstly, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone for your continued support for Guy and for taking part in Walk4Guy year after year. It is truly humbling to know there is so much love for our boy, and we could not do this without you.

A very special mention goes to Karen and the entire Welsh family, who have championed Walk4Guy from the very beginning. Their dedication to organising, promoting, and taking part in the walk means the world to us.

This year has brought many challenges and milestones. Guy has attended numerous hospital appointments, with a key focus on his osteopenia. Quarterly bone infusions have helped improve his bone density, initially in the hope that surgery might correct his scoliosis and hip displacement. In August, we learned that surgery would be too risky, and any intervention on his hip would not be sustainable. While this was bittersweet, we were relieved that Guy is not in pain and still has good movement.

Your support has made this possible. Thanks to Walk4Guy funds, Guy has regular hydrotherapy sessions, which, alongside his standing frame and sleep system, help him avoid surgery and maintain the best quality of life. This is a direct result of your generosity, and we cannot thank you enough.

Our wonderful boy also celebrated his 16th birthday this year! Alongside hospital visits, we navigated the transition from paediatric to adult services and completed the guardianship process—a long and emotional journey, but essential to continue advocating for Guy’s health and wellbeing.

Despite these challenges, Guy’s resilience shines through. He achieved seven Nat 1 qualifications this year and continues to make us proud every day.

How your support helps: This year, most funds went towards hydrotherapy, and next year we plan to continue these sessions and add private physiotherapy at home. We are also grateful to receive a new supportive chair from the NHS, which transforms into a standing frame, and we’ll have physio sessions to learn how to use it effectively.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for walking with us on this journey. Your kindness gives Guy the best possible quality of life and means more to us than words can express.
