Walk for Veterans on October 5th, 2023
Renos for Heroes is a cause near and dear to my heart. They are a charity that provides building services to improve the lives of injured Canadian soldiers and their families. Whether a soldier's injuries are physical or a result of PTSD, Renos for Heroes is committed to making the modifications to their home whilst reducing the cost and stress of doing these renovations.
In the past, I have been lucky enough to raise money for Renos for Heroes by walking for this incredible cause. With generous support over the last 9 years, we have raised almost $800,000.00 through these walks. This year, my goal is to make the final push to $1 million. All funds raised go toward assisting veterans who have been injured and require modifications to their existing home to meet their mobility needs post-injury. Depending on the degree of physical impairment, renovations can require extensive alterations which take time, skills, and finances. Without these vital changes, for veterans recovering and adapting to life post injury, their home can feel like a prison due to its inaccessibility.
Last year, I was saddened not to be able to walk for this cause, but this year we will be coming back stronger than ever. The walk will take place on October 5th, 2023, from the Carpenters' Union offices at 222 Rowntree Dairy Road in Woodbridge, Ontario, to the home of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Queen's Park, in Downtown Toronto, totaling over 28 kms.
Thank you for joining me on my fundraising journey. I've always been a supporter of our military veterans and I'm so proud of what Renos for Heroes has been doing for the past 11 years. There's no way we can ever truly thank a Canadian Veteran, but I am doing what I can by raising money as a token of my appreciation.
Our donations to Renos for Heroes are needed now more than ever. Personal and corporate donations are both welcome. If you'd like to go above and beyond, please feel free to join me for part or all of the walk on October 5th, 2023.
Let's continue to support the amazing work being done by Renos for Heroes!
