Our friend Leon is one of the hardest-working people you could ever meet.
A self-employed plasterer, Leon has spent years working long days to provide for his family and build a life for those he loves most. Anyone who knows Leon knows that he is the type of person who would always help others without hesitation.
Today, Leon is facing the biggest challenge of his life, a battle with terminal cancer. He has been diagnosed with a rare and extremely aggressive form of kidney cancer—sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with rhabdoid features and necrosis.
Leon is 35 years old, a proud fiancé, father to three young children, and a lifelong Everton supporter. After his cancer diagnosis, Leon underwent three months of immunotherapy, but sadly the cancer continued to spread.
The NHS can now only offer tablet treatment to try to slow the progression of the disease, with doctors giving Leon a prognosis of 1–3 years. Determined to keep fighting, Leon and his family are raising funds to travel abroad to access innovative treatments, including dual immunotherapy and clinical trials, which are not currently available to him in the UK.
Every donation will help give Leon the chance to explore further treatment options and spend more precious time with his family.
We are a group of mates who have known each other for more than 20 years. Through all of life's ups and downs, we have always looked out for one another, and now it's our turn to stand beside Leon and his family when they need support the most.
To raise funds, we will be walking 20 miles from The Big Help Stadium in Southport to Everton's new home, Hill Dickinson Stadium, on Sunday 2nd August 2026.
We chose this route because Leon is a passionate Evertonian, and we wanted the walk to reflect something that means a great deal to him.
Every penny raised will go directly towards supporting Leon and his family and helping fund treatment and care not available through the NHS.
Whether you are able to donate or share this page, every bit of support means the world to Leon and his family.
Thank you for taking the time to read Leon's story and for helping us show that no one fights alone.
Every Step. Every Donation. Makes A Difference.
