On October 18th at 8:00 AM, our team will come together at work to walk a 5K in honor of our friend and coworker, Cristina, who is bravely battling breast cancer. This walk is not only a show of support, but also a way to raise funds to help ease some of the financial burdens that come with treatment and recovery.

Cristina has just one more chemotherapy session left on September 11. After that, her body will need about 3–4 weeks to recover before she undergoes surgery. Following surgery, she will begin radiation treatments almost every day as part of an extensive recovery process.

At first, the doctors were concerned because the tumor was growing instead of shrinking, and chemotherapy didn’t seem to be working. Just three weeks ago, her doctor questioned whether it was worth continuing treatment since there were no visible results. In that difficult moment, Cristina prayed to God for mercy. Recently, however, the doctor has seen very encouraging progress. The tumor has now diminished, bringing new hope and making surgery possible. Cristina holds tightly to her favorite verse, Jeremiah 33:3: “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

Our goal is to raise $2,500, and every dollar will go directly to Cristina to support her through treatment and recovery.
