Walk 10,000 steps a day, everyday in May
Go blue for this May it's Apraxia Awareness month!
To mark Childhood Awareness Day on May 14th, I’ve taken on the challenge of walking 10,000 steps every day throughout May — and I’m doing it for a cause very close to my heart.
Many of you know my amazing son Zach, who has Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Our journey to get him the speech therapy he needs has been long and difficult — and sadly, we are not alone.
Too many families are still fighting for support. That’s why I pledged to help others on this journey.
The boys will be joining in and we have a special walk for the weekend of 14th May
I’ve joined a group of passionate, like-minded individuals and together, we registered Mikey’s Wish Foundation as a UK charity.
Mikey’s Wish Foundation supports children with speech, language, and communication needs by:
Providing direct speech & language therapy
Offering training for therapists
Creating informational resources
Raising public awareness
And lobbying the government to #InvestInSpeechTherapy
Right now, over 65,000 children are on waiting lists for speech and language therapy.(I'm sure the reality os much worse) We’re determined to change that — but we need your help.
All money raised during this campaign will go directly towards funding speech and language assessments for children stuck on these waiting lists.
