You may not realise it, but Unicycle Hockey in the UK is thriving and it's time that we take our brightest and best players to represent our nations on the World Stage, but we need your help to make a really big impact.

The World Championships for Unicycle Hockey are being held at Unicon 22 in Steyr, Austria in Summer 2026 and this year will mark the debut for any UK teams, at this level.

We're planning on taking a squad of five teams to the competition; two to represent Wales, and three to represent Great Britain as a whole.

The Cardiff Unicycle Hockey club has been a driving force for the sport in the UK for over 17 years; training new players and hosting national tournaments. We have represented at a European Championship level three times, but this will be the first time for us to take it to the very highest level of competition.

However, just entering the competition is expensive, at 320 Euros per player, with no concessions for students or young people.

Each unicycle hockey team comprises 5 players and we plan to enter 5 teams from the UK, which brings us to a cool 8,000 Euros, just to enter the competition. Then we have accommodation, transport, and subsistence costs.

Any funds raised by this campaign will be shared out and used to subsidise the competition entry fees, accommodation, and travel costs of our students and younger players. Without this help, many of them may be unable to participate.

By supporting this campaign you will be helping to fulfil some once-in-a-lifetime experiences for young athletes, whilst putting Wales and Britain firmly on the unicycle hockey world map.
