Waking Jack JJ Gubbins Event

This is Liam Gubbins, Jack/JJ and Karen's son, and I am the administrator for the Evite invitations. I was contacted by one of my father's dearest friends, Viktor Weyand, founder of Weyand Incentives in Traverse City Michigan, to whom I had sent an invitation for the Celebration of Life / Waking Jack/JJ being held on October 1st in Chicago.

Viktor being friends with Jack/JJ for the last 40 years and knowing the number of friends he has made over all these years, realized that the celebration at the Irish American Heritage Center in Chicago will be a very well attended event. From his decades of experience in the event planning industry, he immediately realized the expense of such an event will be substantial. Unbeknownst to Jack/JJ, he contacted me, to discuss possible ways to assist in covering the cost of this endeavor. To that end, he approached me about the idea of establishing a GoFundMe page to offset what is sure to be a well attended celebration. With this in mind, I agreed to coordinate & administer the GoFundMe page. This is being done as a surprise without Jack/JJ knowing it is happening.

Of course, contributions are entirely optional and will remain completely confidential if you choose. This will be a wonderful surprise for Jack/JJ as he is currently planning on covering 100% of the expenses for this event himself. We are so looking forward to the evening's festivities, and behind the scenes, we are hoping I will be adding many extras like upgraded food and drink options to make this a truly unforgettable celebration for all of us.

I thank you for your support and let’s keep this surprise to ourselves. Please refrain from posting anything about this on social media or mentioning it to Jack/JJ to keep this the surprise it is intended to be.

Should there be any funds left unspent on the event, any extra money will go to the Sisters of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ Madonna Renewal Center.
