Wakefield High School is lucky; it has a wide variety of sports offered but one sport excluded is Hockey despite being only 3 miles from a pair of rinks! We have acquired enough interest to start up a hockey team, now we just need community/family support.

With continued support and interest, we hope to be able to officially become a national-bound high school team that can compete at higher levels! We want to give our players the best opportunity to enjoy the sport through their high school! At the moment, this is not WCPSS affiliated; it has been put together by students as an outside club until we can become a part of the school. All our surrounding states have HS hockey (SC, VA, TN, & WV) and we deserve to be able to have this option as well!

We've had an amazing reception and we've had so many Wakefield High School students want to play, we could easily field 2 pure teams! We are hoping to be able to field a Varsity & JV team next school year!

Due to hockey being an expensive and time-consuming sport, we are asking for donations to help us work towards our updated spring '23 goal of $4500 dollars. This will cover a portion of our temporary jerseys (game jerseys this season and practice ones for next), insurance, a photographer, and at least 4 games including ice, 4 referees, and ice cut!
