Wake Monarch Academy will be the Triangle's, First Recovery High School. Join us in the Recovery High School movement!
A Recovery High School is not a treatment center. It is a place where teens struggling with substance use can continue their education alongside finding recovery support. The welcoming environment offers accredited courses of graduation as students work an individualized recovery program.
Studies show there is a 70% chance of a return to substance use within six months as recovering teens are returning to the same high school where they more than likely used. Students attending recovery schools show a 30% greater chance of sustaining recovery.
The rise in substance use disorder is staggering. A recent study found North Carolina among the top 20 states in terms of opioid use. Of the 25 worst cities for opioid problems nationwide, four are in North Carolina. North Carolina has NO Recovery High Schools currently. The first one, Emerald School of Excellence, is scheduled to open August of 2019. We want to be the second one, but we need YOUR help!
Would you consider donating to help us get incorporated and begin our nonprofit organization? Our youth needs YOU! Thank you in advance for your help!
