Wairewa Community Bushfire Aid

We are seeking to raise some funds for the Wairewa community that was devastated by a bushfire in the very early hours of New Year’s Eve. 

More than 10 homes have been lost as well as sheds, outbuildings, stock and feed.

This close knit community has been supporting one another for generations but after this recent emergency we’re looking for help from further abroad.

Urgent need includes funds for accomodation, feed for stock and fencing materials to keep current stock safe.

Many local people are seeking to donate at the local general store and we are just trying to provide another secure platform for people to direct their generosity in this time of need.

My wife and I have been close with the Wairewa community for many years and in the last 5 years our cousin and his family have lived there and been an integral part of this community. We have been and continue to be in regular communication with community members and are looking forward to hearing from them the most beneficial ways to direct the funds from this campaign. At the moment our plan for delivering funds is to set up 2 signatories that the community will nominate to us when they’re ready and then withdrawals will be set up in their name.
