Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

My name is Allen Farinas and I'm reaching out on behalf of my dear friend and Chef Alex Shirashi, a talented and hardworking chef who just started his new job at Skybox Taphouse. Alex is known for his passion in the kitchen, his infectious energy, and his dedication to creating amazing dishes that bring people together. But right now, he's fighting for his life in the ICU after a horrific accident that no one could have seen coming.

Just two weeks into his new role at Skybox Taphouse, Alex was already going above and beyond. On his day off, he was heading out on his moped to volunteer his time and expertise for a photo shoot of some exciting new menu items. Tragically, a tourist suddenly cut across three lanes of traffic and crashed directly into him. The impact was severe, leaving Alex with three broken ribs, a punctured lung requiring a breathing tube, and the need for constant drainage of blood from his lungs. He's in critical condition, hooked up to machines in the ICU, and facing a long, painful road to recovery.

As a new employee, Alex doesn't yet have health insurance through his job, and the mounting medical bills are overwhelming. From emergency room fees and ICU care to potential surgeries, medications, and rehabilitation, the costs are skyrocketing into the tens of thousands—and that's before considering lost wages during his recovery. Alex has always been the one to help others, whether it's whipping up a meal for friends or stepping up at work. Now, he needs our help to focus on healing without the added stress of financial ruin.
