In Loving Memory of Waika Naki

Donation protected
Aloha e nā 'Ohana a me nā Hoaaloha (to our dear friends and family),

With a heavy heart, we are saddened to share that our Waika Naki had passed unexpectedly on Thursday, March 16, 2023. He has left us earth-side to begin his eternal walk with Akua.

This humble Hawaiian giant had a fearless spirit, he was a respected leader, a loyal protector and a generous provider. He impacted the lives of the many who knew him in his own special way.

He is the beloved Father to Tevai and Alika; Son of Walter and Darlene Naki, Brother to Nahiwa and Likeke & “Family” and “Friend” to many.

Waika was truly one of a kind, he was humble, honest, wise, and lived his life to the fullest every day. From surfing the point and hunting the mountains of Mana’e in his younger days, to the mature intellectual conversations, to day trips to his favorite place on earth, to sitting ringside with the boys, to simply enjoying family gatherings, LIFE was good all the time. He made sure everyone was taken care of and made sure to spend his time here on earth the best way he knew how...with a smile on his face and big love in his heart. He has certainly left behind a beautiful legacy that will live on thru all those he has touched.

The Naki 'Ohana truly appreciates those who have reached out from near and far to offer your condolences of aloha, words of sympathy and prayers during this time. Although grieving our loss has been difficult, we know in our hearts that Waika is at peace and surrounded by our loved ones who have already transitioned on. He is missed dearly and we hope to be reunited with him again one day in that mansion in the sky! For now, we will look for him in the mountains, the rivers & the sea. These were the places which Waika loved most!

Waika's memorial and celebration of life will be held on June 3, 2023, in beautiful Mana'e, Molokai. More details to be shared out soon. Any kōkua to the Naki 'ohana to help pay for Waika's funeral expenses would be humbly appreciated. If able to, please consider supporting here, however, Pule and Aloha are also welcome to their 'ohana at this time.
