WAG is going to the AACT Nationals
Tax deductible
Windham Actors Guild is working to raise money to send their Actors and Crew to Minnesota in June to compete at the National level for the American Association of Community Theater (AACT) and they need your help!
The adventure started last year when the extremely talented Aaron Foss approached me with the suggestion to perform "The Most Massive Woman Wins" at the New Hampshire Community Theater Association's yearly competition in Septemper, 2016. I read through the play, and couldn't say no to such a moving piece.
Aaron then assembled 4 of the most amazing actors in the Northeast to perform in the competition, Amy Agostino, Shawna Ciampa, Hannah Heckman-Mckenna, and Laurie Torosian.
All four actors and Aaron received personal recognition and accolades, along with awards for their performance, and the show won the competition, despite competing against 4 other extremely well produced shows.
The next step was the AACT regional competition in Connecticut in February, 2017. Again, Amy, Shawna, Hannah, and Laurie put on a phenomenal performance, and won the regional competition, qualifying them to move on to the National competition in Minnesota in June, 2017. This is the first time a NH theater company has won the regional AACT competition in 28 years!
The funds raised through GoFundMe will help offset some of the expenses for sending the cast and crew out to Minnesota. These expenses include the entry fee into the AACT competition, airfare, hotel, food, car rental, along with helping to offset missed work.
All donations through this GoFundMe are directly to a 501(c)3 organization, and tax deductible as your situation allows.
Any amount helps! So please give your support, and show these women how proud you are of them, and of NH theater!
