Campaign Goal: $80,000 -$100,000
A $1 donation is all we ask of those who drop in to read our campaign. Students on the Go! wants to see how many dollars it can raise by February 14, 2017.
If everyone who generously gives only $1, and then challenges three friends to donate $1, and then those friends challenge another three friends, keeping the momentum going, Students on the Go! can finally purchase their trolley, and get their mobile vocational school and business going!

Purpose
To create a completely functional, self-contained, mobile tutoring/life skills/vocational school/waffle business, that will focus on strengthening math, reading, writing, grammar and oral skills, as well as life skills: balancing checkbooks, paying bills, creating a budget, etc.
Mobility will enable The Tutor Trolley & Waffles on the Walk to go anywhere at anytime to any school, game, event, function, park or beach with minimal cost and very little overhead.
Immediate Need
Due to massive budget cuts in education in 2009 over 50,000 teachers lost their positions after teaching for over 882 years combined! And this was just in the first year of the economy collapse. Hundreds of teachers in California continue to lose their teaching positions.
One teacher wants to take matters into her own hands, by continuing teaching in a unique, fun and valuable way that will give disadvantage and homeless students the chance at earning an all-encompassing education and hands-on training for a sustainable career in the food industry. So, she created Students on the Go!
About
Most kids in low-income, inner-city schools don't go to college; many are homeless, and have no other alternative to upper education. Others simply want to choose another path outside of college, but there are no opportunities offered them. None. So Students on the Go! was created to solve this challenge by establishing The Tutor Trolley & Waffles on the Walk giving these students the opportunity to learn valuable skills beyond the classroom, while creating jobs in education beyond the four walls of a classroom.

Goal
Money raised through this campaign will be used to buy a food trolley to make The Tutor Trolley & Waffles on the Walk possible. A used retro-fitted trolley costs over $100K. It costs nearly $80K for a used, retrofitted one. Eventually four trolley cars will be purchased, so people can sit in one car, while their students learn in two, and their waffles are made and sold on-the-spot wherever they go in another. The Trolleys will operate through electricity or by hybrid: electricity and clean fuel.
The business will be run by the students, and supervised by a licensed teacher, teaching the basics: math, money handling, reading, writing and grammar along with valuable real-life, hands-on business and people skills, all while on the go!
Financing through donations
DonorsChoose.org has already graciously offered to supply The Tutor Trolley with needed classroom materials. Monies raised through this campaign will be used to by the required licenses, insurance, trolley(s). The waffle equipment will be donated by restaurants, chef supply shops, and local restaurants that are going out of business.
