On Sunday Oct 16th 2022, 2 days before his 50th birthday, Wade was admitted to Penticton Regional Hospital for unrelenting pain in his head. He had 2 CT scans which showed a mass in his brain.
He spent his 50th birthday in a hospital bed waiting for an MRI to see what his next steps would be.
After numerous tests, including a brain biopsy, and spending most of December (including Christmas) in hospital we still don’t have a confirmed diagnosis. At this point the Doctors are just trying to control the massive swelling around his brain.
Wade was re-admitted to hospital in early January as a post biopsy MRI showed blood clots in his brain. Upon further investigation they discovered he also is suffering from blood clots in his lungs. The headaches, in combination with the drugs he must take to control his brain swelling and blood clots, make even the most basic activities a struggle.
Wade is an independent contractor, but is unable to drive or work. Because he does not qualify for EI benefits, we would like to remove the added stress of bills piling up while he can’t be working.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, and any words of encouragement to help keep his spirits up would be most welcome.
