My name is Terrie and I am a ward manager in Worthing hospital I really need your help... please read the story below
This is the story of a brave 5-year-old girl and her devoted mum, a nurse at Worthing Hospital, UHSUSSEX. What began as a healthy, happy little girl suddenly turned into a life-threatening emergency when she contracted Influenza A and developed Toxic Shock Syndrome. Her condition quickly worsened, and she needed urgent medical attention.
In addition to the devastating effects of the flu and toxic shock, this precious girl faced compartment syndrome in both of her tiny legs, requiring critical treatment. She needed the help of a ventilator to breathe and was placed on numerous inotropes to support her failing organs. Her CKA levels soared, and her body struggled with hardly any urine output—a truly unbearable situation for both her and her family.
Ella is a beautiful 5 year old girl who fights for her life, her mum is there by her side, navigating the physical and emotional toll of seeing her child suffer. As a nurse herself, she understands the severity of the situation but is now facing the unimaginable challenge of not only caring for her daughter but also managing the long-term financial strain. With a hospital stay that could be lengthy and uncertain, the financial burden of extra travel, accommodation, and extra expenses is overwhelming.
This is where we can help. If everyone in the Trust gave just £1, the difference it could make for this family would be life-changing. With your support, they can focus on the health and recovery of their daughter, without the constant worry of how they will cover the extra costs associated with such an extended and unpredictable stay in the hospital.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a huge impact on this family's journey. Let's come together to support them during this unimaginable time. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
