Fundraising at Wolverley Animal Centre!

Here at Wolverley Animal Centre, we house over 30 different species of animals, from Rabbits to chickens, hedgehogs to Chinese water dragons and even a selection of hand reared goats and sheep, for educational purposes. We are based at the beautiful rural grounds of Wolverley CE Secondary School in Kidderminster and the centre staff work for Wildgoose Rural Training, a charity care farm based in Worcester. The purpose of this partnership and the development of the Centre is to provide our students, who are studying BTEC Level 2 & 3 in practical animal care and welfare, with as much hands on experience as possible with the range of animals.

We also provide sessions for affiliate groups such as brownies, beavers, scouts and primary school groups, SEN groups and other learners for work experience and volunteering, which can be booked for educational encounters and bespoke animal themed lessons and handling sessions. We rely heavily on our volunteers who are so very valuable to us and help us to make the Centre the wonderful place that it is!

All of our animals are ‘pre-loved’ and come from either rescue or re-homing situations. We have a very strong belief in a stress free, natural environment for all our resident species. Therefore, we go above and beyond to promote their welfare and offer them enriching and spacious environments that suit the animals and the students! We do not promote breeding and our animals are given a permanent home.
So we are asking for your help with raising funds to support all our different animals and future projects. These projects will allow us to continue to offer our animals the best home, diets, exercise regimes, equipment and enrichment. As well as important things like vet bills, vaccinations and medications.
Some of the things we may purchase with our raised funds:
-building materials
-heating and housing equipment
-handling equipment
-feed and enrichment equipment
-Animal feeds and supplements
-bedding materials and substrates
if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at
[email redacted]cs.sch.uk

We are not open to the public, however we do hold up to 7 open days or various seasonal events here at the centre, to allow the public the opportunity to see the work we do here and meet and greet our wonderful animals, in the hope that we can educate as many people as possible about the care and welfare needs of common and uncommon pets and also to help us raise funds to maintain the centre and the animals within it.

We have recently managed to raise enough funds to create a Meerkat enclosure called ‘The Burrow’ - with help from the school, the builders, our wonderful volunteers and followers, our amazing students and lots of hard work. We did it! For more information on our Centre, updates on the Meerkats, all our other animals and the work we do, please visit our facebook page at

We thank you in advance for your help and support, on behalf of all the staff and animals, we are extremely grateful!
