Last year at Wackfest, we came together to remember Jack through friendship, community and making sure nobody felt alone. It was a very raw and emotional day for all of us.

This year, we continue to remember Jack with the same spirit of togetherness and community; we would like to collect donations for a cause that was very close to Jack’s heart, whilst continuing to raise awareness about the importance of mental health awareness. Wackfest 2 is proud to announce the three charities that will be beneficiaries of our fundraising this year.

Our first charity will be The Qattery in Wolverhampton’s Victoria Street.

A loving sanctuary for rescue cats, The Qattery gives rescue cats a safe place to recover and be cared for, and also have a beautiful café where people can chill, connect and share some special moments with their fur babies.

Our second charity is the ARC Ashmore Park. The ARC work tirelessly to treat, care for and rehome abandoned and stray cats, giving them the love, safety and second chances they deserve.

Our third charity will be Rethink, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people severely affected by mental illness. Their vision is a society where no one has to face the impact of severe mental illness alone, and where everyone has the opportunity to feel valued, supported and able to live a fulfilling life, no matter their circumstances. Their work focuses on equality, rights, fair treatment and ensuring people get the support they need to live better lives. Mental health was a huge part of our journey last year, and supporting Rethink allows us to continue that legacy in Jack’s memory.

Wackfest was created to celebrate Jack’s life, his creativity, individuality, his love of music and art, and the community he called home. There’ll be live music, art, good people, and plenty of chaos, all helping us raise as much as we can for these two brilliant causes, and a mental health organisation who do such important work for anyone struggling. Supporting these amazing charities means we can continue to celebrate his legacy while doing something genuinely positive in his name.
