The Tekula-Wanamaker Family House Fire

Hello everyone, we are writing on behalf of our family, Rachel Tekula, Steve Wanamaker and their two kids who recently lost everything, including personal vehicles, in a house fire the afternoon of March 30th. It was reported the fire started at 4:32pm in Valley Cottage, NY; they are a family of four with an 7-year daughter (Lulu) and 1.5-year old baby (George). Fortunately, all family members and pets were able to make it out of the house alive and well.

The Wanamaker’s have been life-long residents of the Valley Cottage/Nyack area. Rachel and Steve have been inundated with restarting and not knowing where to begin, we believe this is a good place to start. The family has lost everything and will be starting all over to rebuild. If you are unable to participate financially, please consider the family in your thoughts and prayers.

We spoke to Steve this morning and as he is busy dealing with relocating his family, dealing with third-party insurance, fire/water remediation companies, and resuming a “normal” life he was relieved knowing his family was safe and sound. Funds will be sent to their personal bank account and will be allocated towards rebuilding their family home, clothes, food, accrued fees, transportation, and all other necessary expenses to return to the fabric of their community.
