Our robotics team, 3574 HIGH TEKERZ, is going to Houston for the First Robotics World Championships. First and foremost this is an AMAZING OPPORTUNITY for our students to go and compete on an international level. More importantly, it will be a great opportunity to meet other kids who also have a passion for STEM, Teamwork and Community!
This campaign is to cover the costs of 3574 HIGH TEKERZ, traveling to Houston. The cost for each student and mentor traveling to Houston is $1500. There is a $5000 event registration fee and the cost of freighting our robot and tools to Houston and back. The entire week will cost close to $20,000. This campaign is to offset those costs.
We are headed to Houston on April 16th so we are on a tight schedule! If you have it in your heart (and wallet) to support 3574 HIGH TEKERZ, now is the time!
This is about much more than paying for a trip, this is part of a yearly cycle of design, build, collaborate, support, learn and grow for not just our team but every team. First Robotics is a bridge into STEM and professionalism. I have rarely seen high school students apply themselves in such a focused and sustained manner. There is also something for everyone, design, engineering, CAD, machine shop skills, statistics, driving etc. Most of all it is teamwork and empathy. Yes we compete but we want everyone to do well even those we compete against. This is a life lesson rarely seen or modeled in our culture and it is key the 3574 HIGH TEKERZ success and deserving of your support.
3574 HIGH TEKERZ is a small but scrappy team that builds a great robot. Every year in a few short months we have to design, build and compete with our robot. In our last meet we took 6th out of 34 teams and wen on to the semi-finals. So even thought we are small we build a great robot.
We, 3574 HIGH TEKERZ, are asking for your support . We have great mentors, students, parents and sponsors but we need a little more. Please help us get to Houston. Please be part of this great effort, please join us and take pleasure not just what our team can do but what all teams are doing by joining the cycle of community thaa sustains and joins us as people.
com. More than anything we have heart and spirit. Our team is like a family they are there for each other. The way the events are set up three teams compete against each other. This too builds great team building and great empathy for each other. We are all working to build a great robot and go to Worlds.
