Marathon for Mental Health
For the past couple of years, I have gone through my share of ups and downs. At times struggled with my mental health.
I am not alone.
I have seen many others close to me struggle as well.
I have now begun taking the steps I need to take to get to where I want to go. Taking charge of my mental health and reaching out for the help that I needed.
I would like to encourage people to reach out when you are ready. It's hard. I know. But, it is so important to talk to someone - a friend, a family member, a counselor, a therapist.
Simply know - you are not alone. There are many people by your side willing and wanting to help. (No matter if we are close friends or barely know each other you are always welcome to reach out to me if you want)
I'd like to use this platform to thank all the people that have helped me when I have needed it most. You gave me strength, comfort, and perspective. I am forever grateful.
To prove to myself and others that our mind is our strongest asset and you can do anything you put your mind to, I've decided to train for and will attempt to enter and run the Toronto Marathon on May 1, 2022.
I would like to try and raise money and awareness for the Canadian Mental Health Association. An organization that is starting to get the recognition it truly deserves. For more information on the CMHA you can check out there website
For more information about Canadian Mental Health Association: As the nationwide leader and champion for mental health, CMHA facilitates access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience, and support recovery from mental illness.
