Urgent Need for Help for My Mother in Israel

My mother, Myrna Rachel Bessis, aged 80, is disabled and suffers from early-stage Alzheimer’s. She lives in Nesher, near Haifa. She does not have a Mamad (protected room) in her house. During an alert, she stays in her bed, waiting for the sirens to pass. She walks very slowly with a walker, which prevents her from accessing a Miklat (public shelter). Her current caregiver is afraid to come to her house because there is no Mamad !

I am stuck in France and haven’t been able to sleep recently because I am very worried about her. The social services and the health department of Nesher have not found a solution for her. They say they do not have the budget!

I wrote a request to the Minister of Health, but it is very unlikely they will be able to help me this month because everything is saturated.

I have found a miraculous place in an assisted living facility that is adapted to her needs, where she will be protected for the duration of the war.

In this exceptional situation, I need help to pay for this assisted living facility. The cost is 16,000 NIS for one month, and I am currently unable to afford this amount.

Could you please help me pay for this residence so she can be safe for a month until the war is over?

Ma mère, Myrna Rachel Bessis, âgée de 80 ans, est handicapée et souffre d'Alzheimer en début de stade. Elle vit à Nesher, près de Haïfa. Elle ne dispose pas d’un Mamad (pièce protégée) dans sa maison. Lors d’une alerte, elle reste dans son lit, en attendant que les sirènes passent. Elle marche très lentement avec un déambulateur, ce qui l’empêche d’accéder à un Miklat (abri public). Son assistante de vie actuelle a peur de venir chez elle car il n’y a pas de Mamad !

Je suis coincée à France et je n’arrive pas à dormir ces derniers temps parce que je suis très inquiète pour elle. Les services sociaux et le service de santé de Nesher n’ont pas trouvé de solution pour elle. Ils disent qu’ils n’ont pas de budget !

J’ai écrit une demande au Ministre de la Santé, mais il est très peu probable qu’ils puissent m’aider ce mois-ci car tout est saturé.

J’ai trouvé une place miraculeuse dans une maison de retraite adaptée à ses besoins, où elle sera protégée pendant la durée de la guerre.

Dans cette situation exceptionnelle, j’ai besoin d’aide pour payer cette maison de retraite. Le coût est de 16 000 NIS pour un mois, et je ne suis pas en mesure de payer cette somme dans ma situation actuelle.

Pourriez-vous m’aider afin que je puisse payer cette résidence le temps de la guerre, pour un mois ?

אמי, מרינה רחל בסיס, בת 80, נכה וסובלת מאלצהיימר בשלב מוקדם. היא גרה בנשר, ליד חיפה. אין לה ממ"ד (חדר מוגן) בבית שלה. במהלך אזעקה, היא נשארת במיטה שלה, מחכה שהאזעקות יעברו. היא הולכת מאוד לאט עם הליכון, מה שמונע ממנה להגיע למקלט ציבורי. המטפלת שלה כיום מפחדת לבוא אליה כי אין לה ממ"ד!

אני תקועה בצרפת ולא מצליחה לישון לאחרונה כי אני מאוד מודאגת לגביה. שירותי הרווחה ומחלקת הבריאות בנשר לא מצאו לה פתרון. הם אומרים שאין להם תקציב!

כתבתי בקשה לשר הבריאות, אך הסיכויים שיימצאו לעזרתי החודש נמוכים מאוד כי הכל מלא.

מצאתי מקום פלאי במוסד סיעודי מותאם לצרכיה, שם תהיה מוגנת במשך כל תקופת המלחמה.

במצב יוצא דופן זה, אני זקוקה לעזרה בתשלום עבור המוסד הסיעודי. העלות היא 16,000 ש"ח לחודש, ואני כרגע לא יכולה להרשות לעצמי סכום זה.

האם תוכלי לעזור לי לשלם על המקום הזה כדי שהיא תהיה בטוחה לחודש עד שתסתיים המלחמה?
