Help Maria Escape Abuse and Find Safety

Hi, I'm Maria, I'm a disabled (adhd/is autistic) trans girl who is currently trying to escape her abusive father. He abuses me regularly emotionally, physically, and keeps me from access to gender affirming healthcare and clothes. By belittling me, undermining my sense of self, and never knowing when he will assault me again for “being a sissy,” I am in a constant state of arousal and fear. The toll this is taking on me has driven me to the brink multiple times. Some number of months ago, I even tried to get help from the authorities and they did nothing. I need to get out or I fear for my ability to keep it together.

My plan is to take the bus to my closest major city which is Chicago and stay in temporary housing until I can no longer pay for it and then as a plan B stay in lgbtq+ shelter until I can become independent. I require your assistance in making this happen.

This is what I will do with your funds should you give them to me:

$1,500 will ensure I have a place to stay to land in Chicago and get my bearings and begin to safely look for employment.

$500 will be used for food I will do my best to make it last any way I can

$200 for a basic phone plan for a few months

The above is the bare minimum I need to be safe for a few months should I receive more funds I will use them as follows:

Obtain Gender Affirming Clothes

Begin Hormone Replacement Therapy

Receive medical care for my ADHD

Work Towards obtaining higher education (e.g., pay application fees, etc.)
