Jr Gonzalez (Carissa)

Jr is Carissa's husband.  Through some unfortunate circumstances, Jr is currently uninsured.  He is having some very scary symptoms, and ended up in the ER last week.  

He is in need of a diagnostic brain MRI to help determine what's wrong.  Because he doesn't want to put his family in debt, and is reluctant to borrow the money, he has not yet had the MRI.  

I know we can raise enough to pay for at least the MRI (and hopefully a little more toward the ER bills they're facing).  Please give what you can.  Every little bit helps.  Please feel free to make your donation anonymous if you wish.

Update 6/5/15 - Jr has agreed to the MRI, but unfortunately it could not be scheduled until Wednesday, 6/10.

Update 6/11/15 - Jr has been diagnosed with MS.  He has been accepted into an MS study and will be seeing a UCSF specialist on 6/12/15.

Update 6/18/15 - Jr has been diagnosed with MS and has many lesions in both his brain and his spinal cord. He has been started on steroids in an effort to keep his sight from worsening. At this point, they don't really know what the future holds.

Jr. was lucky to be enrolled in a study at UCSF, and is getting some of his tests and treatment paid for by the study. Unfortunately, he still does not have insurance, and the bills are mounting. On top of incurring a lot of medical bills, Jr is unable to work at this time, and is not getting paid.

Carissa and Jr are very grateful for all the help they've received. It would have been impossible to get some of the testing done without these funds. If you haven't given, and have the means, now would be the time. Also, if you have friends who might be able to give a little, I hope you'll share this information with them. Every little bit helps.
