Lincoln’s story told by his Mom-
Lincoln has had tummy issues for what seems like his whole 3 years of life. We
would take him to the doctor and we would all just assume that he was "backed up".
Thursday March 18th, Lincoln spiked a fever. He would not eat or drink and
became lethargic. He was in so much pain. We rushed him into our family
doctor. This time seemed so different. They did a lot of tests and the results
were shocking.
Friday, March 19th, Lincoln had to have a nephrectomy(removal of the kidney)
due to having a grapefruit sized tumor on his left kidney. The pathology report
indicated a Wilms tumor. Our sweet boy will need chemotherapy.
My heart is heavy and filled with confusion, heartbreak, denial, shock
just sadness. Heavy sadness. When the C word hits home, especially in YOUR
CHILD, it is the biggest wake up call and changes you forever.
Our sweet little Lincoln has been through a lot. I can’t even begin to imagine his pain. I want so badly for his pain to be my pain instead. Just picturing my cute
curly-haired blonde boy losing all his hair and his little body being so weak and
sick from the treatments is heartbreaking. knowing all we can do is try and
comfort him and make this as “normal” as possible for him and our other two
boys. This has also been so hard on them.
Our Lincoln NEEDS your mountain moving prayers.
Thank you
** Lincoln will be receiving care at Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Lincolns family will have travel, hotel, medical and a lot of other unexpected
expenses as they go though this journey. We are asking for help to make this
less stressful for them. If you are able to donate that is WONDERFUL but if that is not possible for you a prayer for sweet Lincoln is greatly appreciated and
SHARING this page is also so helpful. Lets show Lincoln and his beautiful family the KINDNESS the world has. Thank you so much.
