Eric is a great man. We have grown to love him over the past several years. For anyone who lives or has visited the Victory Park area, you have likely seen Eric with a huge smile and greeting all of us that have grown to consider him part of our family. With a little more funding, we can keep him safe and comfortable while he needs our assistance.
A little about our guy Eric:
He has served his country in the US Army. He suffers from mental heath issues, and has lived on the streets near Victory Park for over ten years. Some days are better than others for Eric, but no matter what he always has a smile on his face and wants to know how your day is going.
Eric has recently suffered from severe health problems. He was admitted to Parkland Hospital and stayed for six weeks. Since being released, there has been a small group of friends paying his expenses. At the time, we thought it would be a couple weeks. Unfortunately his health is not improving as quickly as hoped, we do not know when he will be well enough to get back out on his own. He is very proud man and genuinely appreciates the support he has been given. We think he realizes that he likely would have not made it without the support of our community. We had to convince him to go to the hospital It was not easy.
We have recently negotiated a rate for lodging, a small group of us have covered lodging, medical, food (including his love of Heath Bars and Mountain Dew-we do limit those!!) and everyday expenses.
WE NEED YOUR HELP.
We are trying to raise enough money to cover at least six months of his expenses. He is very appreciative and those who know him and care for him, love him.
Those of you that get the opportunity to meet him will be blessed.
We thank you for taking the time to read this! Please give what you can, anything will help!
Many blessings to you all!
-Team Eric
