A Safe Home

Hi!

My name is Ely and my partner's name is Richard.

Currently we are in a less than favorable home situation due to a very long series of unfortunate events and circumstances, of which I'll go into briefly.

My health has been on a steady decline since my young adult years and I live with a narcissistic mother who constantly berates, degrades, and humiliates me on a daily basis. She has been that way since my teens and unfortunately there's years' worth of trauma that I have yet to recover from. On top of that, as I'm getting older, I'm coming down with physical illnesses now such as heart and cognitive issues. I'm pending some more diagnoses as I write this out and have been trying my best to fund this move myself but have been unable to get ahead with all that's been happening with my health.

My partner is the light of my life, and I really would like for us to both be in a safer place to call a home. He is autistic, disabled, and currently grieving the loss of his father, who suddenly passed a year ago. It's been incredibly difficult for him, and I want nothing more for him to be safe and to be able to grieve in peace.

At this rate, I need to rely on mutual aid to move. I'm afraid to, but I don't think there's much hope outside of that option if I'm being honest.

We're hoping to at least raise enough for moving services and supplies, the deposit, and a months' rent. If we can have a little cushion as I'm trying to take care of my health, that would help a lot as well.

Lately my mother has been threatening to kick us out and it's been causing me to have panic attacks and a lot of emotional turmoil.

Anything will help with this - and you will have the eternal gratitude of us both, along with our beloved pets who will join us in the move.
