Samuel was born with microtia and atresia of his right ear and has severe conductive hearing loss. Samuel was fitted for a hearing aid once he came home to the states. After various hearing tests it was found that his hearing aid was not really aiding him at all. He needs a BAHA (bone anchored hearing aid) in order to hear the beautiful sounds around him, the laughter of his family and music that he loves so much. Unfortunately our insurance has denied our request even after appealing numerous times over the last two years.
Samuel is 8 and going into the second grade. He loves life and he is a compassionate boy who is so easy going and kind. He is such a precious soul who has blessed our family more times than I can count.
It is imperative that Samuel have this surgery. It will greatly improve his quality of life and help him to truly be anything he wants to be.
When we brought Samuel into our family we promised to give him the best life possible, we promised to get him the help that he needs to become a big strong boy and we will do anything in our power to make good on that promise.
His surgery is scheduled for June 8th at MUSC and we couldn't be happier for our sweet boy! We have continued to save and have put down 1/3 of the cost of his surgery.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, for learning about our Sam and for any donations that may come our way.
