Indiana Conservation Officer Seth Owens suffered a serious spinal injury following a fall during a tree cutting accident.  The fall resulted in serious damage to Seth's spine and significant damage to nerves that affect his legs.  Doctors were able to remove several bone fragments that were compromising his spinal cord but are currently unable to predict a prognosis for the future function of his legs. 

Officer Owens is a veteran officer assigned to Carroll County.  He is a law enforcement officer that is committed to the community he serves.  Officer Owens has always been involved in mentoring kids through involvements in school and youth group programs.  He has volunteered countless hours in various leadership roles in Indiana Conservation Officer Youth Camps for the past several years.  Officer Owens is one of Indiana's elite police rescue divers.  In this role he has been involved with bringing closure to families during tragic drowning events by making body recoveries.  He has also been instrumental in closing several criminal cases by locating evidence under the surface of many Indiana waterways.

Seth is very proud of the title he earned as an Indiana Conservation Officer, however he holds additional, more important titles.  Seth is also a loving husband and devoted father of two beautiful daughters.  Seth is very proud of his family accomplishments and works tirelessly to provide for them.  In addition to working to protecting Indiana citizens, he also works to support his family as a farmer.  He devotes countless hours to working his land and maintaining his cattle.

If you know Seth, you know he has always devoted his life to hard work that requires physical labor to support his family.  Unfortunately, for now, he has significant limitations following his traumatic accident.  Those who know Seth are confident that he will fully recover.  He is a very strong man with a tremendous family and friends support structure.  We also know that this rehabilitation will be very demanding, and very costly.   We are asking for you to support a man who has devoted his adult life to his community and the safety of those who live in, or pass through, the State of Indiana.
