Help for Rose
Desperation is a horrible feeling. For those of you that know Rose, know that she’s always been an extremely hard-working woman that has always provided for her family. She’s been doing her best on her own after losing our father to cancer in 2002. Although there have been struggles throughout the years she has remained a warm and loving person that would give the shirt off her back to help you. Last year, Rose suffered a heart attack, missing a lot of work. As a result of that, her boss cut her hours from 40 hrs a week to 10-15. She has been struggling to keep her head above water ever since. Last week, two days before Thanksgiving, after working at a local pharmacy in Malverne for 40+ Years, her boss decided to let her go. She has been fiercely looking for a new job with no avail. Once people find out she’s 73 years old, they choose against hiring her. Even with the help of her children it’s just not enough. She has now found herself $6000 behind on her rent, bills and medical expenses/ hospital bills and is now facing evection from her apartment. Although she receives Social Security it doesn’t even cover the rent. Social services will not offer any help, stating that her $1500 a month Social Security puts her over the amount needed to qualify for any kind of help or services. We are desperately asking for help of any kind to get her caught up with her rent so she can at least stay in her apartment while seeking a new job. This is the last straw and we don’t know what else to do except reach out to those that might be able to help. your understanding and kindness is appreciated so very much. ❤️ God bless you.
