William needs help!

WILLIAM NEEDS OUR HELP

Hello Friends,

Many of us have known and loved Edie for many years and we have grown to know and love her beautiful son, William – who has the unique gift of autism. On January 6th, as he was (rightfully) walking across a 4-way intersection, he was tragically struck by a car going 45 miles an hour through a red light. He suffered a severe concussion and was in and out of consciousness for 4 days. Both his kneecaps have been shattered, and he suffers from a fractured skull, broken pelvis, broken sinus bone, collapsed lung and multiple deep skin abrasions requiring stitches. These injuries are causing him confusion and excruciating pain. A follow-up CT scan confirmed that he had life-threatening bleeding on his brain. In an emergency surgery on January 9th, they removed an orange-sized hematoma that was pressing against his already bruised brain. His road to recovery will be a long one and Edie will need to assist him 24/7. Edie and Bill (William's dad) have secured an attorney to collect money though the driver's insurance company, but she was extremely underinsured and what will be collected will not be adequate at all, and that will take some time. Until then, there are many needs and expenses that they will need help with.

This page is an avenue to tangibly show our love and support for Sweet William, Edie and Bill as they maneuver their way through this very difficult time. Some of the expenses that are going to be immediate are a medical bed for his room, various therapies, medical products, in-home nursing assistance and many medical bills that have yet to be seen.
