Sheck's Small Group SAT Course

I am a junior at Harlem Village Academy High. I have a GPA of 3.94. I am a student senator of my class, and I am a member of the National Honor's Society and Mock Trial. I also spearheaded the idea of Driver's Ed at my school.
Outside of my school committments, I have worked with Judge Richard Lee Price as an intern. I observed and analyzed lawyers throughout my summer and wrote a final reporton stop-and-frisk. Throughout my internship, I was able to win the NAACP Outstanding Youth Award, as well as a Academic Scholarship from the G&B Foundation. I enjoyed my work with the judge so much tha I applied for a position at my local Assemblyman's office. This summer I will be seeing how legistlatures create bills and I will be able to meet with people like Mayor de Blasio and Governor Cuomo.
This summer, I will also be attending the Cornell Summer Program. The three-week program will allow me to take college classes throughout the summer and earn college credit. I am also working on starting my own internship with BuzzFeed, Inc. The internship will provide young minorities with more exposure in the media.
I am a natural leader, altruisitic, steadfast, and dedicated. I have received so many blessings from my family, HVA, and my teachers over the years, but I need help. My first SAT score was a 1780 (out of 2400). I opted out of taking the SAT again until the fall so that I can study throughout the summer. Unfortunately, my family's current financial situation leaves me without the means to pay for summer tutoring. My dream is to go to Yale University, and I know that I need a better score in order to even get my application looked at.
