Give Hope and Life to Martha

Martha is the youngest sister of our family. She has always been kind, happy and easy-going, yet has showed her tenacity by waiting on the Lord for nine years for her husband. As an adult, she is beautiful inside and out and full of God’s wisdom. Both my sister Sara and I have greatly benefitted from her wise counsel throughout the years.

Unfortunately, Martha was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at 55 years of age, which she gracefully took in stride. However, in June 2021, Martha was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, which was devastating news to the whole family. Martha chose to work on her health even more rigorously through exercise. However, this past January she noticed the disease was progressing and made an appointment with her neurologist. She was then diagnosed with PSP Parkinsonism, which is a progressive supranuclear palsy reducing her life span to 5 to 7 years.

The good news is that there is a possibility of extending her life by joining a medical research study with an experimental drug called FGF-1. It has proven to be safe and effective on PSP as well as regular Parkinson’s.

The cost of the treatment is prohibitive without your help. All follow-up treatments are included. Your loving gift will go towards all aspects of Martha’s medical treatment.

Martha is the matriarch of her large family, which includes her husband, Rick, four sons and their wives, and eight grandchildren. They look to Martha for advice, care and love. She is greatly needed by her family and her friends now and for many years to come. We ask for prayers; prayers for the medicine to work effectively and prayers for her comfort and complete healing.
